The cheerful Pikkuli Bird lives with her friends in the Sunny Moor Forest, where the residents are preparing for Christmas in the traditional way by baking treats and making decorations together. Homemade ornaments have already been hung on the Christmas tree, and a beautiful star has been placed at its top to light up the festive grounds. The Magpie family, who have just moved to the forest, have brought different kinds of baked goods and decorations with them from the city. However, comparisons between the various cookies and decorations lead the adults to argue. Pikkuli and the other children grow worried when the light of the star on the tree begins to flicker as the argument escalates. Suddenly, the light goes out completely, and Christmas is in danger of being canceled! Pikkuli, together with her friends, decides to save Christmas and search for the legendary Starlight Reindeer, who lives far in the north, to reignite the extinguished Christmas star. An adventure through the snowy forest begins. Luckily, Honkkeli and other good friends are there to help. But will they find the Starlight Reindeer, and will Christmas be saved?
