Quiet Deni is always helping her mom. The 14-year-old girl is careful in her movements, speaks little and looks at the world from the sidelines. She doesn't know how to be around her classmates, as they live such a different life from hers. She is too slow, her hair is too short, she looks boyish. Deni is unable to be herself within the confines of her suffocating family, but neither can she be outside of it.
