Moomintroll accidentally gets involved in Stinky's shady dealings. Together, the whole family begins planning to secretly return a stolen painting to its rightful place. But Stinky can't help his nature and finds himself in trouble again.

Moomintroll hears about Moominmamma's dream of flying in a hot air balloon and wants to help make it happen. Snork Maiden and Sniff go along for the ride, but there are a few bumps in the road.

The sun suddenly disappears as Moominvalley prepares to celebrate Midsummer. Moomintroll, Snufkin and Sniff set out to look for it and soon find themselves on the trail of the Hobgoblin.
