CHILDREN OF MAVUNGU

Yoseva, Kenny and Maticha are in their last year of primary school in the village of Pikin Slee, on the banks of the Suriname River. Deep in the rainforest lurks the mystical god Mavungu, who protects the village's children. Ancient rituals, spirits and a close-knit community guide the documentary's protagonists as they prepare to move to the modern capital, far from the earthy simplicity of their home village.
